Rumbi Island Grill Opens First Treasure Valley/ Boise Location

Rumbi Island Grill, the leader in tropical, fast-casual dining, today announced the opening of its first Treasure Valley / Boise restaurant at the CentrePoint Marketplace in Meridian, Idaho at 3327 N. Eagle Road. Coldwell Banker Commercial’s (CBC) Sherry Schoen, vice president of the Retail & Office Group, represented Rumbi to secure the prime retail location. This is Rumbi’s second Idaho location, with the company’s first restaurant opened in Idaho Falls this summer. The restaurant chain plans to aggressively open two new locations in the Treasure Valley/Boise area market by the end of 2012.

“The CentrePoint Marketplace’s central location, high visibility and traffic models made it the perfect fit for the new Rumbi Island Grill,” explained CBC Vice President Sherry Schoen. “The Meridian community offers one of the lowest overall costs of doing business in the United States and continues to rank among America’s leading cities for business by CNNMoney.com.”

“We are excited to be opening our first location in Meridian,” said Rumbi Island Grill franchise owner Syndee Kemp. “While economic factors have not been as favorable to other food chain retailers, we are proud to continue our story of success and expansion in Idaho.”

Meridian Mayor Tammy de Weerd applauds Rumbi’s newest location decision, “It’s great to see Rumbi Island Grill making the decision to open its doors in Meridian. They have come to the same conclusion as others when deciding on where to locate in the Treasure Valley. The energy in Meridian makes it a great place to do business. We are a safe community and centrally located, a great combination for any business looking to locate in our community. With Rumbi Island Grill, the community now has one more fantastic dining choice. We welcome them to Meridian.”

Open to the public, Rumbi will host a grand opening at the new Meridian location from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 15. The event will include Hula dancers, free prizes, fire dancers, and a Beach Cruiser bike drawing. The first 100 customers in the door on Saturday, October 15th will win free rice bowls for a year. The Meridian Chamber of Commerce will conduct a ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.
